Homestead & Other Tax Exemptions

Tax exemptions remove part of your home’s value from taxation, this saves you money monthly and annually. If you want to receive a homestead exemption, the home must first qualify as your primary residence on January 1 of the year in which you are applying. If you are over 65, and/or disabled the January 1 ownership and residency are not required.

A copy of the applicant’s driver’s license needs to be submitted with a homestead application. The address on your driver’s license needs to match the address for which you are applying for the homestead exemption. Your Homestead exemption form must be filed in the county that you purchased. Your homestead exemption form is due by April 30th.
